Gardaí are questioning the 15-year-old boy who was injured when the car he was travelling in crashed into and killed two gardai on the Stillorgan dual carriageway in Dublin last Sunday.

The boy was arrested and taken from St James’s Hospital on crutches at 11.40 a.m. under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. He can be held for 12 hours, after which he will be charged or released.

His 16-year-old companion remains in St James’s and is suffering from more serious injuries. He has not yet been questioned.

Garda Anthony Tighe (53) and Garda Michael Padden (27) died when their patrol car was struck by a stolen sports car travelling at 120 mph.
