Premiership side Middlesbrough said today they had made a fresh offer to Brazil World Cup winner Juninho.
Last week the 29-year-old midfielder's father and agent, Osvaldo Giraldo, said his son, currently at Spanish side Atletico Madrid, would not be rejoining Middlesbrough for a third spell following a failure to agree personal terms.
But Middlesbrough spokesman Dave Allan said today: "We can confirm that we have made a revised offer to Juninho and negotiations are ongoing.
"We are hopeful that both parties can eventually agree a deal to bring Juninho back to Middlesbrough." - AFP
