Mobs of indigenous Dayaks torched more homes in Indonesia's Borneo today as a fresh wave of ethnic violence hit the already ravaged region, witnesses said.

Screaming "Long Live the Dayaks!" the mobs swept through the outskirts of the Central Kalimantan capital Palangkaraya burning homes abandoned by Madurese immigrants.

Police did not intervene.

More than 400 people, mainly Madurese, have been killed in nine days of ethnic bloodshed in Central Kalimantan province.
