DUBLIN LORD Mayor Gerry Breen yesterday warned about the dangers posed by Halloween bonfires and fireworks.

He was launching Dublin Fire Brigade’s campaign seeking people of all ages to “be safe and stay safe” during festivities over the next fortnight.

“Bonfires and fireworks at Halloween are extremely dangerous and cause a lot of injuries and damage,” Mr Breen said. At yesterday’s launch in Ballyfermot, Dublin Gaelic footballer Eamonn Fennell also urged people not to play with fire at Halloween. A safety pack containing leaflets, posters and a safety DVD have been sent to the city’s primary schools as part of the campaign.
