Bohemians, Dundalk, and Derry City all came through their FAI Carlsberg Cup quarter-final replays tonight to book their places in the last four alongside Shamrock Rovers.
Defending champions Bohemians had no problems overcoming fellow Premier Division side Bray Wanderers 4-0 at the Carlisle Grounds. A well worked move by Glenn Crowe and Simon Webb set up the opening goal for the visitors when Dave Morrison scored after 14 minutes.
Crowe was involved again when he set up Gary O’Neill for Boh’s second. O’Neill came on as a second half sub and duly netted his second 20 minutes later. Crowe got in on the act himself by securing victory with a 78th minute strike.
Two goals by James Keddy ensured Dundalk’s 2-0 win over Finn Harps. Keddy struck a fierce 25 yard shot in the 38th minute to put Dundalk ahead. The home side were doomed at Finn Park when the Harps defence failed to clear their lines and Keddy once again was on hand to slot home his second in the 75th.
Derry City needed extra-time to book their place in the semis with a 1-0 over UCD at the Brandywell. In a tense tie Eamonn Doherty scored the only goal of the match in the 104th minute. And with time running out Alan Mahon added insult to injury to UCD’s cause as the 26-year-old was sent-off.
Bohemians will now take on Derry City at Dalymount Park while Shamrock Rovers will travel to Oriel Park to take on Dundalk. Both ties will be played on March 10th.
