Laurent Blanc will not be following Sir Alex Ferguson's lead and making a U-turn on his decision to retire in the summer.
Several of Blanc's Manchester United team-mates have called on the 36-year-old centre-half to postpone his retirement plans and carry on for at least another season.
Blanc, though, is unmoved and he claims he still plans to quit playing at the end of the season.
Blanc, who joined United from Inter Milan in August, said in the Manchester Evening News: "At the moment, there are too many other things to concentrate on rather than thinking about retirement.
"As things stand, I still intend to retire at the end of the season.
"I know Sir Alex Ferguson has changed his mind, but that's not the case for me.
"I must emphasise, I am not even thinking about that at the moment.
"All I'm focused on is giving of my best and trying to achieve something for Manchester United.
"My thoughts are concentrated on trying to win the Champions League and the English championship."
