LONDON - German astronomers yesterday said they had all but proved there was a massive black hole at the centre of our galaxy, the Milky Way.

Dr Reinhard Genzel of the Max Planck Institute for Extra Terrestrial Physics, near Munich, said he remain cautious about claiming absolute proof that the black hole existed. But "it was caution backed up by the best evidence that has yet existed," he said.
