Trinity College Dublin will celebrate the bicentenary of Edmund Burke's death with an internntional symposium along with exhibitions of cartoons and Burke memorabilia.
To commemorate Burke's anniversary on Wednesday, July 9th, the world's foremost Burke scholars will debate in Trinity's public theatre and there will be a bicentennial banquet with a menu featuring 18th century culinary specialities.
An exhibition of caricatures and cartoons associated with Burke will take place in the Bank of Ireland, Foster Place. International meetings in November will be addressed by Valery Giscard d'Estaing and Sir Patrick Mayhew. An inter- university debate hosted by Trinity College Historical Society will involve Oxford, Cambridge and Glasgow Universities.
