Generics drug maker Barr Laboratories is in talks to buy Irish drugmaker Galen, sources said today.
Galen said earlier today that it was in preliminary talks that could lead to an offer for the firm but did not identify the potential bidder.
The sources said the takeover talks were going well and that a deal would likely be agreed by early next month, although they said it could yet fall apart.
