A Libertas photoshoot in London yesterday featured an extremely scantily-clad model posing outside the Houses of Parliament. Amy Diamond had just a few gold stars to hide her modesty and was painted blue, imitating the European Union flag.

The stunt was meant to highlight "the sleaze and corruption of greedy MEPs that dwarfs the current abuse of taxpayers' money in the UK parliament", according to Libertas UK. Ms Diamond added: "I am delighted to bare all for Libertas. What have MEPs got to hide? I want them to get everything off their chest like me."

It's pink to make the girls wink — and it's working.

Senator Alex White, who is running for Labour in the Dublin South byelection, was accused of trying to steal a car in Dundrum yesterday, according to his campaign manager Eunan McKinney.

Mr McKinney said a shopper mistook Senator White's campaign car, a blue 03 Renault Laguna, for her own vehicle and began protesting loudly – much to the confusion of the candidate, who was removing items from the boot at the time.

Only when the Toblerone-shaped sign proclaiming “Vote White Number One” atop the campaign vehicle was pointed out did the woman notice that her own car was parked nearby . . . “It was like one of those moments you see on Candid Camera,” said Mr McKinney. He said the woman was “mortified” afterwards.
