The economist Dr Peter Bacon, who was recently commissioned by the Government to report on the housing market, has been appointed head of the company overseeing the financial and business affairs of TG4. RTE announced yesterday that Dr Bacon will act as chairman of Seirbhisi Theilifis na Gaeilge Teoranta a subsidiary of RTE which has responsibility for the Irish-language channel.
