London - British Airways said yesterday it would slash the price of Concorde flights from London to New York by two-thirds as a New Year promotion.

A return ticket in economy class will cost £2,002 pounds (€3,203) for a flight leaving on December 30th or 31st and returning between January 1st to 4th, 2002.

The current equivalent price is £6,819. BA has resumed transatlantic supersonic flights more than 15 months after its Concorde fleet was grounded following an accident in July, 2000 with an Air France Concorde when 113 people died.
