Arsonists attack two Northern Ireland schools

Two schools in Northern Ireland were attacked by arsonists overnight.

A temporary building at De La Salle High School at Struell Road, Downpatrick, Co Down was damaged by fire. The building belonged to a contractor which was doing work on site.

Forensic experts are due to make a detailed examination of the fire.

Meanwhile, minor damage was caused to the Good Shepherd Secondary School at Poleglass on the outskirts of west Belfast.

A PSNI said that forensic tests had already been carried out at the school and the incident was being treated as arson.

Police have appealed for information about both attacks.
