Some 1,400 pupils at a Catholic grammar school on the outskirts of south Belfast were sent home yesterday after an arson attack on the science block. The fire in Rathmore Grammar, near Dunmurry, was discovered by a caretaker.
Windows had been forced open on the ground floor of the four storey block, and oil and petrol bombs were thrown in. Three classrooms suffered fire and smoke damage. The school closed yesterday for repairs.
The RUC is investigating.
