The Army's bomb disposal unit made safe an explosive device in Tallaght, west Dublin last night.
The team was sent to an address at Raheen Drive in Springfield after a request by gardaí and arrived at the scene at 1.05am.
The device was taken from outside a private residence, and the scene was declared safe at 1.55am.
According to the Defence Forces, this was the 141st call-out for bomb disposals team and the 25th viable improvised explosive device made safe this year.
