The father of a Co Monaghan family was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint in front of his family at his home last night.
According to gardai, two masked men entered the house in Castleblaney at 11.15 p.m. last night. One of the men was armed with a handgun.
The man's wife and five children were detained at the home until the father arrived just before midnight. A Garda spokesman said a sum of money was taken in the raid.
