Iarnrod Eireann has apologised for leaving about 50 people, most of them foreign tourists, stranded outside a closed Dublin station yesterday. Tara Street station failed to open until just after 9.50 a.m., 35 minutes later than normal on Sundays, because a member of staff did not turn up for work in time. People waiting to travel to Bray and Howth were unable to gain entry to board the trains.
