In a profile of Joe Dolan on October 10th last, we repeated false allegations, first reported in another publication, by Mr Dolan regarding an incident on a flight to Corfu some years ago, which led to his being banned from Aer Lingus planes for some months.
We accept that these false allegations should not have been published and that their repetition has caused considerable distress and embarrassment, especially to the captain in command of the flight in question and to his family. We sincerely apologise to them.
