Aston Villa have rejected a bid from Real Betis to take striker Juan Pablo Angel on loan until the end of the season.
Angel is hoping to leave Villa Park. He has been left out of manager Graham Taylor's squad for the last two matches.
Villa said yesterday they would not be looking for a loan deal and want to recoup some of the £9.5 million they paid to River Plate two years ago.
