The board of the Adelaide and Meath Hospital, Dublin, incorporating the National Children's Hospital, has appointed Dr David McCutcheon MBA, CHE, as chief executive officer.

Born and educated in Ireland, Dr McCutcheon (46) is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin, and is president and CEO of the Hamilton Civic Hospitals, Ontario, Canada. He will take up his new position next month.
