A pedestrian was killed in a traffic accident at Portumna, Co Galway, on Sunday night. He was named yesterday as Colm Casey (17) from Woodpark, Portumna. The accident happened between 11.15 and 11.50, and gardai at Portumna (0509-4100) or Loughrea (091841222) are appealing for witnesses.
Gardai also named the boy killed in a car accident in Co Meath on Sunday. Clint Carroll (13) from Causestown, Athboy, was in the rear passenger seat of the car which hit a tree on the Delvin to Athboy Road on Sunday afternoon. The man killed in a third accident early on Sunday morning in Co Longford was named as Aidan McGoldrick (25) from Drumlish. The accident happened when the car he was travelling in left the road and overturned in a field.
