60 Travellers in Galway fracas

Gardai recovered hooks, machetes and iron bars after a fracas involving up to 60 travellers in Galway city last night. An estimated 50 gardai were called to break up the disturbance on a football pitch near a halting site at Castlepark in the east of the city. There were no reported injuries. Ten people were arrested.
