Three men were arrested yesterday in the investigation into the murder of Ms Gillian Thornton (20) in Ballina last weekend. The men, aged 20, 21 and 26, were taken into custody around 3.30 p.m. under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1904. Later last night a fourth person, a women in her 40s, was taken in for questioning.
Chief Supt John Carey said gardai were following a particular line in their investigations.
