A SUICIDE bomb attack and an ambush by separatist rebels yesterday killed 25 people - 17 of them troops - on the country's republic day, marking the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic.
The killing of a further 22 rebels was claimed but not confirmed by the authorities.
