Oslo - President Clinton, South Korean President Kim Dae-jung, and UN organisations are among a record 144 nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize this year, Nobel sources said yesterday.
"We have 144 nominations, a new record," Mr Geir Lundestad, director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute, said. "The previous was 139 in 1998." Last year, Medecins Sans Frontieres won from among 136 candidates.
