Management at the Munster Expressin Waterford are seeking redundancies as part of a plan to cut costs at the 150-year-old newspaper.
It was reported last night that a total of 11 redundancies are being sought – almost half of the workforce – while several areas of production are likely to be outsourced. The twice-weekly newspaper is one of the largest selling regional papers in the south-east and serves Waterford city and county, as well as south Kilkenny and south Tipperary.
Management were unavailable for comment last night.
