11 Lords a-leaping on the stage

London - Eleven Lords have taken part in a one-off performance of The End Of The Peer Show.

London - Eleven Lords have taken part in a one-off performance of The End Of The Peer Show.

Lord Rix, dressed in a black suit and bowler, led the band of peers as they took to the stage in central London.

Lord Rix gave a colourful rendition of Bessie's Boil at the Players' Theatre, under the arches of Charing Cross.

Last night's performance was staged to celebrate Lord Rix's final curtain call as chairman of Mencap, a charity for people with learning disabilities.

Also performing were the Marquess of Bath, Lord Gisborough and Lord Montagu of Beaulieu in a hearty rendition of The Stately Homes Of England by Noel Coward.
