A seven-year-old boy suffered from nightmares for months after his parents' car was hit and spun off a dual carriageway, a judge heard yesterday. Mr Hugh Mohan, counsel for Ross Terry, now 14, of Peck's Lane, Castleknock, Dublin, said that while the boy's physical injuries had been minimal in the hit-and-run crash, he suffered greatly from post-traumatic stress.

The Circuit Court President, Mr Justice Smyth, approved a settlement offer of £11,000 from the Motor Insurers Bureau of Ireland.
