Warm and Fez-y

Morocco’s second largest city, Fez, has become one of the travel insider’s favourite destinations thanks to its preserved old city, listed as a World Heritage Site, its architecture, galleries, madrasas and hidden green oases.

To showcase the best of the city, the experts from Riad Fès have put together a curated tour programme that includes everything from a guided visit to the medina to an intricate exploration of the city’s ancient walls.

Hike around the rivers and springs or horse ride through the mountain forests, experience the thermals of Moulay Yacoub or Sidi Harazem and taste all of the wonderful food on offer. Stays at Riad Fès start from €217 per room per night and breakfast is inclusive. riadfes.com

Motor on

If you’re feeling the need for speed this weekend head on down to Killarney where the 12th annual BikeFest is taking place. The three-day motorcycle extravaganza has something for the whole family, from bike routes to kids activities, music, and food stalls. irelandbikefest.com

Deer life

Red deer can once again be seen roaming the grounds of Bunratty Castle and Folk Park in Co Clare. Shannon Heritage announced the return of the renowned animals, who have been synonymous with Bunratty Folk Park for over 30 years. The deer will roam the 26-acre visitor park along with a growing number of animals on site including sheep, Shetland ponies, and shorthorn cattle along with two female Irish wolfhounds who arrived earlier this year. shannonheritage.com
