KAREN ARNOLD AND ROBERT HEITONwere married on March 14th by Fr Tim Hannon at St Patrick's Church in Wicklow town.
Although Karen spent her teenage years in Berkshire, in Reading, where she went to school at Hugh Faringdon, her parents Pat and Patricia Arnold have returned to Ireland and once again live in Wicklow town. Karen studied accountancy at Griffith College in Dublin and met Robert, also an accountant, when they were both working for KPMG in Jersey more than three years ago.
As the thistle in his lapel signifies, Robert comes from Aberdeen, where he studied accounting and finance at Robert Gordon University before becoming a chartered accountant in St Andrews. He is pictured below with John Heiton and Andrew Smith. Robert and Karen moved to Ireland more than a year ago, and Robert works for ACC Bank. They became engaged while hiking around Glendalough.
Their reception was held at the Brook Lodge in Aughrim for 100 guests, who were led into the hall by a Scottish piper. Robert’s aunt travelled from Botswana for the wedding, and friends arrived from Jersey, Scotland, England and all over Ireland.
The couple visited Malaysia and Hong Kong for their honeymoon before returning to their home in Monkstown.
