It's World Turtle Day, don't you know, as good excuse as any to visit Dublin Zoo and the newly opened reptile house.
The day is designed to highlight the plight of turtles and encourage international intervention to help them survive and thrive. While you're at it, you can also check out the new African Savanna habitat, home to giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and the endangered scimitar horned oryx - a species that is actually extinct in the wild. www.dublinzoo.ie
