Useless with a hammer and nails but fancy making a unique piece of furniture for your home? The Tick design by German company Linie 58 has the solution. This ingenious bent wire table-leg system is reminiscent of giant paper clips and can be used to turn any board into a table up to 80cm wide without the need for screws or nails. Just squeeze the leg ends and the top pushes down allowing you to click it onto flat boards of various thicknesses. For the table top, buy a piece of hardwood from your local DIY shop or, better still, salvage an old cupboard door or plank to make a bespoke coffee table or side table.
The Tick is available in chrome as well as black and white semi-gloss powder coated, and comes in two widths, 35cm and 50cm. Prices range from €79 to €94, plus €12 delivery charge to Ireland. See linie58.de
