Dear Dad (aka: The Great Pandandrum)
It’s not even possible to put into words how much you mean to me but I can’t miss this opportunity because it’s probably the best chance I will ever have.
I know I make fun of you, laugh at you and fight you with but behind all that I have a huge admiration for you. You know all too well how much I admire Taylor Swift, JK Rowling, Obama... on and on the list goes on all the people I want to be like, but what you don’t know is that I admire you much more than all of those people put together. If somebody told me today that I was going to grow up to be exactly like you, I couldn’t be happier.
I admire how hard-working you are, I don’t think there is anybody out there who works harder than you do and it makes me furious when people make little of the work you do.
I love your brilliant imagination and the stories you used to tell about Chesterfield man and the fantastic names you thought up for everybody in the family , including yourself, that I used to address you in this letter.
I think it’s amazing how encouraging you are. You have always believed in me and done whatever you can to help me achieve my dreams and I hope someday I can dedicate my first novel to you and show you all the encouragement paid off.
Most of all though, I admire your heart and how loving you are. I have put you and the rest of our family through hell this last year and still you have never stopped loving me. You have stood by me and tried as hard as you can to make me better.
I haven’t been able to show it to you but it means more than the world to me that still, after all the pain I have put you through, you are still here for me.
There's only one thing I can really say. I think you'll remember making me say it when I was younger and wanted something. However, today there is nobody telling me to say it and nothing I want but to show you how much I love you and how much you mean to me. Dad, I love you, you are the best Dad in the world, and how was I so lucky to get a Daddy like you?
