Fancy attending an opera at the Met in New York? Well, thanks to technological advances and the good folks at Opera Ireland, you can see one without ever setting foot in New York, disembarking instead at Dundrum Town Centre, Swords Pavilion or Dungarvan Shopping Centre, for high-definition live screenings at the cinemas there of the performances in New York.

Catch the Met premiere of Doctor Atomic at 6pm tonight, or Berlioz's Damnation de Faust on November 22nd, with Puccini, Bellini and Rossini all to come.

Granted, it's not quite the same as the in-house Met experience, but added bonuses such as backstage cameras and some up-close shots of the stage, sets and singers make for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. See www.operaireland.ie.
