Toronto: from € 154,152One hundred units in Quantum2, a 54-storey residential tower near downtown Toronto, Canada, have been earmarked for Irish buyers.

They will be launched in the Westbury Hotel, Dublin 2, tomorrow and Saturday by agent Hamilton Osborne King.

The apartments, costing from €154,152 up to €322,546-plus, are in the north tower of MintoMidtown, a development of two towers built around a courtyard on the corner of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue. This is close to a subway stop from which you can get to the heart of downtown in about 10 minutes.

The mix of apartments includes one and two-beds, and units described as one and two-beds "with den". They range in size from 59-101sq m (637-1,090sq ft) and there are balconies in every unit, offering good city views. (You would probably need excellent sight, however, to glimpse "the distant shores of New York state" as promised in the press release). Interiors are finished to a high standard, according to the agent, with "European-style cabinetry, floor-to-ceiling windows, and use of granite and wood. Residents will have the use of amenities that include a 21-metre (70ft) swimming pool, fitness centre, billiards and screening rooms. Toronto, Canada's economic capital, has a strong rental market. Mortgages are available from 4 per cent upwards, and the exchange rate makes Toronto attractive for investors.
