The two-storey house was originally a forge and another working building in nearby Tacumshane village is the last complete windmill left in Ireland; it was built in 1846.

The thatched house has an entrance hall with reception rooms on either side of it, both with fireplaces: in the living/diningroom a wood-burning stove is set into one of these. Here an overmantel beam used to be part of a ship and rope marks can be seen on it.

Also on the ground floor is a kitchen, utility and shower-room as well as a bedroom and en suite in an extension to the side of the house.Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a study area, while outside there is a garden with patio.
