Stepaside: from €290,000: Good views of the city and Dublin mountains can be enjoyed by new owners at Park View, an apartment development at Stepaside, Co Dublin.

Hooke & MacDonald is launching a new phase of 60 one, two and three-bedroom units at this Fleming Construction scheme, which is off the Enniskerry Road, not far from the village. The popularity of this location is growing, with its convenience to the M50 and Luas at Sandyford and its rural atmosphere.

Prices start at €290,000 for one-bedroom apartments of 48-55sq m (515-590sq ft). Two-bed apartments of 78-87sq m (840-930sq ft) start at €360,000. Three-bedroom apartments of 110sq m (1,180sq ft) are priced from €435,000.

Stepaside's active community battled for years to limit the expansion of this picturesque village, on the grounds that the infrastructure was insufficient for large-scale housing.

A few years on, their demands are on the way to being met and Stepaside has become a sought-after location for commuters.

Architects Paul Duignan & Associates have designed Park View to follow the existing contours of the elevated site.

When finished, the six stone-clad buildings will be set in three tiers into the slope of the hill. Most have either a south orientation or panoramic views over the city. Car-parking is underground, leaving surface areas free for landscaping.

A good standard of finish includes floor-to-ceiling windows, smart contemporary kitchens with stone worktops and integrated appliances and a glass and steel stand-alone cooker. Sockets are brushed aluminium, walls and floors are tiled and downlighters are standard in main living areas.

Wardrobes are included and bathroom fittings are top quality. The utility room off the hall is plumbed for a washing machine.

Attention to detail continues outside, with extensive planting by landscapers Brady Shipman Martin and water features. Roof gardens have views over the city and bay.

Developer Fleming Construction is a well-known brand name in the Munster area, with residential and commercial developments stretching from Rochestown to Killarney.

The company lists the Inchydoney Lodge Hotel & Spa, the Radisson in Limerick and Fota Island Golf resort among previous projects.

A show apartment will be open for viewing from noon today through to Sunday next.
