OLIVER Barry's company, Elmslope Ltd. has sought planning permission to build a 132-bedroom hotel with bar, restaurant and health club at Hollystown, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15. The development will adjoin his privately-owned 18-hole golf golf course, which is trading exceptionally well.

In the city centre, Dublin Corporation has granted planning permission for the conversion and extension of 5 Fitzwilliam Square for use as a hotel.

Meanwhile, developer David Arnold has lodged a planning application for a neighbourhood shopping centre at the junction of the Navan Road and the Old Cabra Road in Dublin 7. The development would include six shops and a restaurant in a single and part two-storey layout.

An Bord Pleanala has refused planning permission to Leonard Kinsella to retain the use of a 12-bedroom guesthouse at 1 Harcourt Terrace, Dublin 2.
