Dublin 15: from €410,000The last apartments in a scheme by the Royal Canal are being launched. Fiona Tyrrellreports.
The final 12 apartments at The Village in Rathborne, off the Navan Road in Dublin 15, come to the market this weekend.
Located beside Ashtown train station, Rathborne is Castlethorn Development's section of a major new residential area taking shape in north Dublin between the Tolka Valley and the Royal Canal.
First launched in April 2003, the final 12 apartments are now complete and are for sale through Savills HOK on site this weekend, where a show apartment will be open for viewing. The scheme comprises a total of 250 apartments.
Prices at The Village start at €410,000 for 71-88sq m (771-948sq ft) two-bedroom apartments. Three-bedroom penthouse apartments with 88sq m (955sq ft) cost from €500,000.
The village feeling at the development is enhanced by a mix of retail and commercial facilities which are now up and running, including Superquinn, a canalside café, Douglas & Kaldi and Unicare Pharmacy.
A bar and restaurant and other retail outlets are in the pipeline. The River Centre in Rathborne also offers a gym, Spar and a crèche.
The standard fit-out at The Village includes integrated kitchen appliances and heated towel rails in all bathrooms. All apartments come with one underground car-parking space and all penthouses come with two spaces, hardwood floors, granite worktops and tiling in the kitchens.
A big selling point at Rathborne is its close proximity to the new train station, giving access to Dublin city centre in about 20 minutes.
The Phoenix Park is nearby and a five-acre landscaped park in the heart of Rathborne is complete.
Castlethorn is the developer behind the Dundrum Town Centre and Adamstown in west Dublin.
