The permanent tsb Ideal Home Show takes place this weekend. The Irish Times is teaming up with the Royal Institute of Irish Architects for three days of talks and advice at the Home & Design Theatre.

Friday, April 20th

Ipm: Introduction to the Ideal Home Show followed by Liz Dwyer interview with TV interiors presenter Linda Barker on the latest looks for interiors, DIY trends, and how to get your home ready for sale.

1.45pm: Apartments and Small Spaces: How to maximise space and live with less – a panel discussion with RIAI architects isín Murphy, Darragh Breathnach and Eva Byrne in conversation with Dr Sandra O'Connell.

2.30pm: Irish Times travel journalist Joan Scales shows how to get your home ready for Airbnb, the costs and the tax implications.

3.15pm: Got some queries for a QS and an interior designer? Patricia Power and Colm Nolan of Circa Design have the answers.


4pm: From G to B – How to improve the energy rating of your home. Darragh Lynch has some answers.

5pm: Paint makes the mood. Colour psychologist Adele Roche talks paint tones and mood theory.

5.45pm: Thinking of selling? Here's how to streamline the process and get the best price for your home. Hunters Estate Agents and Richard Lee of Lee Solicitors provide dos and don'ts for sellers.

Saturday, April 21st
