The former Guinness Hop Store on the corner of Bellevue and Rainsford Street in Dublin 8 is in line for a revamp to accommodate computer technology and research facilities. MedicalLab Europe Ltd has been granted permission by Dublin Corporation to redevelop the listed building. This will involve the demolition of a single storey industrial wing and another temporary structure.

Most of the exterior of the building will be refurbished while another lift and staircase are to be installed. Partitioning will be put in to form the laboratories, video and sound studios and an auditorium. The plan also involves a landscaped car-park.
