Gehl Architects, Copenhagen-based Urban Quality Consultants, has asked us to point out that they were not the authors of, or responsible for, the master plan or the urban design for the O'Callaghan Properties' project for a major retail and residential development in Cork city centre.
Referring to an article on the scheme for Academy Street/Emmett Place in these pages on June 1st, in which Gehl Architects was credited with having a major input into its urban design, a spokesman said one of the partners was only involved in "sporadic consultation" with the designers, Project Architects.
"Throughout this period, we have been very clear with the architects that we are not to be named as having any part in the architectural or urban design, and that they are not to make use of our logo on presentations, boards or drawings," the spokesman said.
