ATHLONE: FROM €320,000 A NEW PHASE of apartments at an upmarket riverside scheme with marina facilities in Athlone is on the market, writes Fiona Tyrrell.
Located on the left bank of the River Shannon, the Bastion Quay scheme is in the heart of the historic quarter of Athlone close to the castle.
The 51-apartment scheme, which is being built and sold by H2 Developments, is nearing completion and six show units are now on view by appointment.
Owner-occupiers, the trade-down market and holiday home buyers have been the main buyers to date, according to H2.
Fifteen units remain and prices range from €320,000 for large one-bed apartments with 93sq m (1,000sq ft).
Two and three-bed units are equally as spacious with around 140sq m (1,500sq ft). They are priced from €380,000.
All apartments have views over the River Shannon and large balconies ranging from 9-55sq m (100-600sq ft).
Across the river is a recreational green belt and there is a nature reserve adjacent to the scheme.
Inside, the apartments have a high-end finish including modern kitchens, Faber fireplaces, Dansk glazing, and CCTV intercom system. Buyers can also opt to purchase a berth at a private marina being developed by H2.
Apartments will be ready for occupation by June, according to the developer.
