The first major housing development in Brittas Bay for many years is bound to be a sell-out among south Dubliners looking to join their friends on the most popular beach along the east coast. The 800 sq ft houses, to be built on a 32-acre site near the beach, may be the only chance for families to get a foothold in an area where planning is notoriously difficult to pin down. A total of 50 houses is to be built with prices starting at £182,500. The developers, Ledaig Ltd, also built the Brittas Bay Village development, where houses first went on sale about three years ago at around £90,000 and now change hands for at least double that.
