WE’VE heard of furniture and appliances being thrown in the sale of a property to sweeten the deal but never a 20-year old convertible.
The owner of 12 Chelmsford Road in Ranelagh, Dublin 6, is including his Mazda MX5 in the sale of his house which is on the market through Savills for €525,000.
The four-bed house is 132sq m (1,421sq ft) and conveniently has a spacious garage to the rear – perfect for the which has only 80,000 miles on the clock. The agent says a similar car on carzone.ie is asking €3,750, so better than a slap in the face with a wet chamois.
The house “which would benefit from some modernising” has two reception rooms, a bathroom, a kitchen/breakfast room .
It retains some of its original features including fireplaces, floorboards and ornate plasterwork. There is a garden to the rear and a block-built garage .
Savills say the owner is living abroad “and as a result he isn't getting to use his car so he thought it would be a good idea to include it in the sale.”
