The Cosgrave Group doesn't give up easily and is about to make a third attempt to get planning permission for an apartment scheme on the former Howth Lodge Hotel in Howth, Co Dublin, even though An Bord Pleanβla has twice turned it down. This time the group is looking for permission for 57 apartments and the right to demolish a house and part of the hotel. The apartments will be provided in two buildings of three storeys plus penthouse and one building of two storeys plus penthouse. A total of 119 car-parking spaces will be provided at surface level and underground.
Cosgraves originally sought permission for 137 apartments and later 102 units but both plans were turned down.
In Dublin 4, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland has been refused permission by the board for a two-storey office extension and two mews houses at St Mary's Land on Northumberland Road.
