Aping Tuscany in rural Primatestown

Co Meath : A cut-stone house on 2.5 acres near Ashbourne is a little bit different. Orna Mulcahy reports.

A 28-foot sunroom with superb views of the surrounding countryside is one the most interesting features of Primatestown Lodge, a modern cut-stone house standing on 2.5 acres of land at Primatestown, near Ashbourne in Co Meath.

Due for auction through Coonan on October 23rd, the three-bedroom house carries a guide price of €675,000.

With its central two-storey tower flanked by single storey wings, the house wouldn't be out of place in the Tuscan hills. In fact, it is 16 miles from Dublin, and 14 miles from the airport.

A gravelled driveway winds up to the front of the house, with a railed paddock on one side.
