Portugal: A Ferrari F-360 Spider F1 could be yours - if you buy an apartment in a new development in Praia de Rocha on the Algarve. You will have a one in 752 chance of winning the car - worth more than some of the apartments for sale - in a draw which takes place in January, according to Gillian Ryan of agent Colliers Jackson-Stops.
The development, being launched from plans at the Westbury Hotel in Dublin tomorrow and Saturday, consists of 121 one and two-bedroom apartments ranging in price from €161,171 to €254,462. (The Ferrari is worth about €175,500).
The development is described as "luxury" and each apartment comes with a parking space. Seventy-five per cent finance at a rate of around 3 per cent is available from a Portuguese bank (which will be represented at the launch). The agents also promise rental income of 4 per cent guaranteed for two years, during which time owners would be able to use one of the apartments for three weeks a year.
Indoor facilities at Vista Marina will include adult and children's swimming pools, sauna, gym, coffee shop, lounge, games room and pool bar. There will also be a discount package at nine local golf courses for residents.
Construction is about to start, and the complex is due to be finished by October 2006.
