Get Running 10km is the latest online running course produced by The Irish Times and presented by Mary Jennings from ForgetTheGym. Over 8 weeks it will take you from running 30 minutes non-stop to comfortably completing 10km - just in time for the many 10km races that take place over the summer such as the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon.

Starting on April 6th you will be sent weekly emails with links to a training plan and video explaining what you need to do that week. You will also be supported with our regular online Q&A sessions where you can put questions to coach Mary Jennings and other featured guests. We’ll be publishing articles to inspire and support you in the Health + Family supplement every week and on our Facebook page.

You don’t have to have done our previous beginners course to follow Get Running 10m. If you are currently comfortable running for 30 minutes non-stop then this 8 week course will comfortably take you up to the 10km mark without over-stressing your body.

For those of you who have graduated from our beginners course be sure to keep getting your 30 minute runs in a couple of times a week until the new course starts. If you’re new to Get Running we are delighted to have you here.

Don’t be daunted by the thoughts of 10k - we’ve been inspired by so many of our beginner runners who just a couple of months ago thought they’d never be able to run for 30 minutes.
