TODAYJoin the increasing numbers of families touched by the issue of suicide on a suicide awareness walk through villages and towns of Cos Leitrim, Roscommon and Mayo.

The Walk of Life begins at Manorhamilton FCA barracks at 10am and goes through Dromahair (10.50am), Drumkeerin (11.30am), Drumshanbo (12.25pm), Leitrim (1pm), Carrick-on-Shannon (1.35pm), Boyle (3.15pm), Frenchpark (4.15pm), Ballaghadereen (5.05pm), Ballyhaunis (6.10pm) and Knock (7.30pm).

TOMORROW

A new documentary film, Genesis, follows the universe as it fills up with gases, stars and planets. Several years in the making, the film gets up close and personal with earth's living things (above). There is a chick's eye view from inside the egg and a rare chance to see a jellyfish evaporate in the sun. Suitable for all ages. IFI, Eustace Street, Dublin 2, 11am. This is part of the IFI's ongoing documentary festival. Festival membership is €1 and tickets start at €7.50.

MONDAY

TUESDAY

Tonight sees the launch of the exhibition of recent art works by established Irish artist Jack Donovan, who takes inspiration from the most vibrant works of Picasso and Velázquez. THURSDAY

Those in the know say jazz cats who haven't been down to Dublin's White Horse Inn are missing out. There are live jazz sessions at the bar every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, 8-11pm. Diehards can stay on after the live music for Headphono, when DJs offer a mix of jazz, funk, soul, Latin and nu-jazz until 2.30am.

FRIDAY

The Craic Pack comedy improv do their side-splitting thing every Friday in the Banker's pub off Trinity Street, Dublin. Described as comedy's best-kept secret, they're recommended if your life has been sorely lacking in belly laughs. Admission €7. The fun starts at 9pm.
